Beykent University is a foundation university in Istanbul, Turkey, teaching in English, Combined and Turkish with 17,059 students. It has four faculties comprising more than 40 academic departments in the fields of Engineering and Architecture, Fine Arts, Science, Economics and Administrative Sciences; a school of foreign languages; and Institutes of Social Sciences and Science and Technology. The University offers both graduate and postgraduate programmes together with certificate programmes, international winter/summer schools and international workshops. It was founded by the Beykent Education Foundation and established in 1997. Beykent University has agreements with European universities under the Socrates and Erasmus programmes, which allow university students to continue their education in a European university and foreign students to study in Turkey. Ahmet Davutoğlu, the current Prime Minister of Turkey, worked at Beykent University as a professor from 1997 to 2004, serving as Head of the Department of International Relations, Member of University Senate and Member of Board of Management.
